History
Kedron Dental Centre, formerly Mark Stanton Family Dental, has a long history of providing comprehensive, up-to-date and appropriate dental services with the support of an extremely friendly and dedicated team.
Patient care is a top priority and we place strong emphasis on quality customer service. Dr Mark Stanton has proudly served the Kedron and neighbouring communities for 27 years.
Dr Mark Stanton, Dentist, B.D.Sc.
After attending Wavell State High School Mark embarked on a career in dentistry and graduated from the University of Queensland in1975. His first position was as a government bonded dentist at Collinsville, North Queensland. In 1977 he became a member of the teaching staff at Townsville Dental Therapy School and was involved in training dental therapists.
Dr Stanton became a staff dentist at Redcliffe Hospital and made the move to private practice in 1982, working in a busy group practice in Brisbane City. In 1984 he took over from Dr Tom Packer, who retired from the Kedron practice he had established in the late 1940’s. Dr Stanton has been proud to continue serving the dental needs of his local community. The Queensland State Government Northern Busway Development forced a relocation and a new and state of the art dental facility was completed in Kitchener Road, Kedron in November 2008.
Dr Stanton has kept pace with advances in techniques, materials and infection control throughout his career by attending post-graduate continuing education programmes and workshops, dental conferences and trade displays and maintaining membership of the Australian Dental Association and the Cadmus Dental Study Group.
Dr Stanton is married with 2 daughters. His interests include cycling, swimming, physical fitness, the great outdoors and astronomy.
Dr Andrea Smith, Dentist, B.D.Sc.
Dr Andrea Smith grew up on the Gold Coast and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Queensland, majoring in Microbiology in 2001.
She then moved to NSW to study a Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of Sydney and completed this in 2005.
Andrea then returned to QLD and has enjoyed 6 years of private dental practice in Brisbane and surrounds. Andrea has been a member of the team at Kedron Dental Centre since early 2009.
Andrea enjoys all aspects of dental practice and has a particular interest in treating children. She also offers Nitrous Oxide Sedation (Happy Gas) for those children and Adults who are anxious about having dental treatment.
Outside of dentistry, Andrea is a dog lover and has 2 German Shepherd dogs and recently started playing Touch Football.
